The goal of this website is to pay tribute to Yuri Gagarin as first man in space and to commemorate the historic day of 12 april 1961. For international purposes this personal website from Belgium is in English.

Gagarin’s first name, Юрий or Yurij/Yury (in Russian), has many versions in other languages: Yuri in English, Juri in German, Joeri in Dutch or Youri in French. In the latter, his surname is Gagarine. We have chosen to use “Yuri Gagarin” on this site, unless specifically mentioned in an other language.
